5.4.7 Vulnerable Communities

A survivor from a marginalized or vulnerable community will have distinct safety planning needs.

You will want to explore specific safety concerns when working with survivors from the following communities:

1. LGBTQIA,

2. People of color,

3. Indigenous peoples,

4. Immigrants or refugees,

5. Physically or cognitively disabled persons,

6. The elderly,

7. Minors,

8. The homeless,

9. Trafficked or sexually exploited persons, and

10. Military service members.
